With all there is to enjoy on our 1,400 acre enclave, you might overlook what lies just beyond. With Vermont as your backyard, it is easy to enjoy the history, culture, and adventure of the region. Explore the gateway to the Green Mountains; the resort towns of Wilmington and Dover, VT. The Hermitage Club straddles the boundary of both towns, and is the closest big mountain destination to the Northeast’s major metropolitan areas.
Wilmington, a quintessential Vermont village just a mere couple miles from the Club, with its antique and artisan shops and gorgeous lakes, there are activities aplenty for all members of the family. West Dover is home to a number of restaurants and outdoor activities.
The scenic Valley Trail currently runs nearly a mile through West Dover in southern Vermont on the outskirts of the Green Mountain National Forest. Plans call for continuing the trail further north to the Mount Snow Ski Area and south to Wilmington, providing a critical off-road pathway for bypassing Route 100. Tanglewood music festival attracts world renowned musicians; historic Manchester hosts the Vermont Equestrian showcase each summer, and offers fine boutique and outlet shopping all year; nearby Williamstown is home to two of the finest art museums in the country. Looking for an outdoor adventure? Kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, fly-fishing, cycling, cross country skiing, and hiking are among the activities that await you year round.
Uncommon…a day exploring the beauty, history, culture and excitement of Southern Vermont; an evening at your private resort enjoying a perfectly prepared dinner served with your favorite cabernet.
