Company ranks No. 1 in Vermont, and climbs to No. 2 among Travel & Hospitality
DEERFIELD VALLEY, Vt., August 17, 2016 — The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain, the only private ski and golf community in the Northeast, today was ranked No. 133 in the 2016 Inc. 5000, Inc. Magazine’s annual list of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S.
An exclusive, four-season private club, The Hermitage Club celebrates the outdoors and family fun with private mountain activities ranging from Alpine skiing and boarding to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The Club also features a variety of summer activities, including hiking, swimming and kayaking in addition to golfing at its 18-hole championship golf course.
This marks the third straight year that the Club has been the fastest growing company in Vermont, as well as its third straight climb in the national rankings – from No. 794 in 2014 to No. 622 last year. The Hermitage Club also ranked No. 2 among Travel & Hospitality companies. Led by broad real estate acquisition and the opening of several new restaurants and renovated inns, the Club’s revenue reached $41.8 million in 2015, a growth of 2,623% over three years, according to Inc.
“This dramatic rise is a testament to the tireless work of our team,” said Jim Barnes, Founder and President of The Hermitage Club. “This year we are celebrating our fifth anniversary, and we can truly see the fruits of our labors in that time. We have not only built an unparalleled private club experience, but with our collection of inviting inns and restaurants, our public spaces have been roundly successful with the surrounding community as well.”
And Barnes is no stranger to the Inc. 5000 list, having seen companies he’s led appear more than a dozen times over his career.
“This is such a prestigious list, recognizing the very best private companies throughout the U.S.,” Barnes said. “It’s thrilling to see the Hermitage Club’s continued and sustained climb up these rankings. We owe our success completely to our dedicated team and to our members for their enthusiasm and financial commitment.”
